The CTICC is Africa’s leading convention centre located in the heart of Cape Town, South Africa. The purpose built event complex consists of CTICC 1 and CTICC 2, which are connected by the Skybridge and boast a floor space of 140 855m2.

The main purpose: Respond to enquiries from the international corporate, government and association market. Bid for international association conferences and incentives and convert business to ensure the target for international conferences are met and exceeded. Pro-actively sell the CTICC to potential clients and research potential events to host and target accordingly, aligned with the City of Cape Towns’ catalytic sectors.
Reporting to the: Head of Sales
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Increase sales
Proactively identify and establish contact with potential with new and existing clients to generate new leads for international conferences.
Respond to sales enquiries within 24 hours from new and existing client enquiries.
Coordinate and conduct site inspections for potential and existing clients.
Delivering of CTICC presentations at tradeshows, off site at client offices or on site at CTICC.
Provide feedback from clients to enhance the CTICC product functioning and service delivery.
Research international association conference leads and source local association contacts and set up sales meetings in order to bid for events.
Research and approach international corporate and government events and set up sales meetings.
Follow up on leads received from international sales representative.
Upsell CTICC additional services i.e. catering, audio-visual, décor etc.
Financial
Meet and exceed annual revenue and event number targets for the international market segment.
Ensure contractual clauses and payment deadlines are adhered to.
Client and stakeholder management
Ensuring proper interdepartmental communication.
Building and maintaining good client relationships by conducting sales calls, site inspections, cold calls.
Represent the CTICC at relevant trade shows, workshops and industry functions.
Manage and maintain meaningful relationships with industry stakeholders and partners.
Activate events to showcase the CTICC services and offering to bidding events.
Involve the relevant departments at client meetings to ensure that proper communication and event handovers are maintained.
Ensure client service delivery is according to expectations and achieve 80% in Customer Survey Reports.
Reporting and database management
Completing sales reports required for analysis.
Maintain the CTICC contact and opportunity database on EBMS.
Report on bids submitted and bid lost.
Monthly and quarterly report on key performance indicators as set by Head of Sales.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Must have at least a relevant National Diploma (NQF 6).
Must have a minimum five (5) years’ experience in a similar position.
Experience in securing international conference bids and an understanding of the Bid process
Personal attributes:
Ability to communicate with all levels of employees as well as with, stakeholders and clients.
Ability to remain up to date with hospitality and convention trends.
Ability to apply innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Able to cope with pressurised situations and make informed decisions.
Effective presentation skills.
