Covid-19 Update

Following the National Disaster declaration around COVID-19 by the President on Sunday, 15^th March 2020, the Department of Health has advised of certain protocols to be followed to minimise the spread of the Coronavirus.

The CTICC has been informed through a tracing process that certain staff members have been exposed to individuals who have had close contact with patients that have tested positive for the Coronavirus. The individuals that the staff members have been in contact with have gone into self-isolation and are following the advice of health authorities.

In an effort to flatten the curve and slow the spread of the virus, we have made the decision to take precautionary measures by temporarily closing the CTICC for a minimum period of 14 days. This will allow our entire team to self-isolate while continuing to work from home. This is a measure to protect and preserve our most valuable asset, our staff.

During this self-isolation period, staff will monitor themselves for any symptoms and report such to medical practitioners. We have equipped our staff with the relevant resources and information around how to self-isolate, which symptoms to look for and most importantly, all preventative measures that they should put in place.

The CTICC believes this measure is the responsible thing to do. “Our priority will always be the safety of our staff, clients and partners,” said Taubie Motlhabane, CEO of the CTICC.

Due to the restriction of hosting events of more than 100 attendees, the CTICC does not have any scheduled events in the next 14 days; therefore, this precautionary closure does not affect any clients at the moment. We will continue to reassess the situation and adjust as operationally necessary.

“Of course, we regret the impact that the temporary closure of the CTICC will have on our suppliers, but we believe it is prudent to be cautious under the current world-reality,” Motlhabane said.

The CTICC is committed to using this time to investigate new ways of doing business by engaging and working with our clients and colleagues. We believe it is important to develop long term resilience strategies so that we are ready to open our doors to the world again and play our part in growing the economy as soon as possible.
