In further efforts to combat the escalating spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa, on 23 March 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a 21-day national lockdown from midnight, 26 March until midnight, 16 April 2020.

In compliance to this new directive, the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) has suspended all premises-based operations until midnight on Thursday, 16 April 2020.

“At this time, we stand together with the rest of South Africa, our continent and the world in doing everything we can to slow the spread of Coronavirus, and to ensure that our healthcare systems are not overburdened. We applaud President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decisive measures, which are meant to protect the lives of the people of South Africa,” says Taubie Motlhabane, CEO of the CTICC.”

While we will physically not be in our offices during this period, we are continuing to work remotely and remain available to our clients via various digital methods of communication.

“We look forward to helping with long-range planning as well as preparation for events that will be held as soon as restrictions are lifted,” says Motlhabane.

“For now, keep well, stay safe and stay home,” she concluded.
